Precious Stones in Tunnels they Roam...

Recently started tagging along for the Green Couch Sessions, taking photos of these rad musicians in their stylish duds and do I ever feel lucky...
First to start this new Comparisonends venture was Behind Sapphire . Had such an awesome time with the crew of Green Couch and the band, check out the video at the Green Couch site.
Founders of the group Grant and Matt pose in their matching spray painted rain boots, couldn't help but smile with these two around. The whimsical child like touch these boys bring to their style equals a thumbs up in my books. I've always been attracted to the lose of seriousness in dress and daywear, this being a perfect example.
Lindsay (guitar/vocals) rocked some really cool vintage inspired duds. I loved the combination of the harder combat boots, black pants mixed with the more homely silk vintage blouse, pastel sweater.
Brayden (bass/vocals) struttin his stuff , you can really never go wrong with an animal tee.
Gillian (vocals) also owner for Grace Like Rain Accessories, plays it simple but sweet by pairing some pretty separates.
Bethany the photographer for the band, earthy and easy with a splash of red, I am diggin the worn combat boot, hiking sock combo. Nothing like an outfit that can go from the forest to the city.
Loved the colours in this shoot, pretty, pretty primaries.

Have to say I had a blast hangin out with Behind Sapphire, a group with amazing talent, positive energy and people who seem to know what it means to have some fun

A tribute to "the pink sheep of the family" Alexander McQueen

One year ago today the fashion world lost one of it's brightest lights.
A loss for fashion, a lost for art. Miss you.

"I kind of like it the way it is right now, ... I believe in that one-on-one sell. I don't really believe in flooding the market with loads of goods that don't mean much, and (you) lose your identity.”

The Warmth in my Heart...

Reds and pinks, bathroom photo shoots, sparkles and precious pieces. Just some wonderful thoughts circling within the grey matter.

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Saw Kristina at the jj bean on Main St. I loved the mixing of the aboriginal reference of the Cowichan combined with her mexican printed bag. The earthy patterns complimenting each other nicely and keeping Kristina cozy on a brisk day.

Stefan rocks my version of kristina's bag which I picked up in the summer at the Old Faithful Shop on Cardova St. I absolutely love it!
Sarah, taking a break, sitting in the sun looking like a starlet from the 20's, a touch of old school elegance. hat from the loft.

lets go for a drive...
A floral frenzy to brighten up a winters wardrobe and some simple rey bans to match.

Space around me where my soul can breathe, I've got body so my mind can leave

a new staple- my vintage crochet shawl that I absolutely adore. from USED vintage on Granville St.

shine on: one of my many dreamcatchers and a lavender-infused john lennon pillow- what else could a girl ask for?

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with idea, the way we live, what is happening." - Coco Chanel

NYE 2010/ 2011. @W2 Lights.
Bow Ties and beauties. Being playful in a Japanese school-boy inspired number brought to life with delicate tights.

Doubt anyone can perfectly mimic this girl's lemon-meringue tutu, bold belt and diamond-print tights.

In the reggae room. Reminding us that some girls still do look good in oversize hoop earrings.

Echoes of a different era with the rich colours in the scarf, but I see defiance with those cerise-kissed lips.

He's gone plaid mixing prints.

A little tank embellished with jet beading makes for a dangerous femme fatale.

the look of knowing.

Nostalgia and Barbarian Invasions...
A better shot of Steph's light and endlessly pretty Chantilly lace frock from F as in Frank, a stark contrast to this guy's fur vest that seems like it came out of The Fifth Element..

Paul. This guy knows a little somethin about colour.

the red leather jacket paired with thigh-scraper stockings offer some low-key glamour for a night out.
